U.S. stock indexes fell on Tuesday, weighed down by a slew of dour earnings
forecasts from companies such as Paypal and Apple supplier Skyworks, while
investors focused on talks to resolve a debt-ceiling deadlock.  .N 
    
    At 11:31 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.08% at
33,592.67. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.42% at 4,120.86 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.59% at 12,184.359.
